omg WALL OF TEXT

FIRST ROW:
2-D Disney: Movies like The Lion King, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Mulan really captured my imagination as a child. The imagery in such movies is breathtaking, and even back then I would just stare in awe while I watched them. Not just Disney, either, but many similar types of animated movies.
Music: I can’t stress enough how much music inspires me. It affects the way I feel, my way of thinking, and the way I draw. Some of my favorite music to get inspiration from is Asche & Spencer, Coldplay, The Cure, The Dust Brothers, Flyleaf, Jack Johnson, Mae, Radiohead, Switchfoot, Thursday, and The Used. I love love love music.
Tomboys: Tomboys are awesome. I have always looked up to them because (usually) they don’t give a crap what other people think. They’re going to be how they are whether you like it or not and they’ll kick your butt if you give them crap about it. I love that style and strong women. Yeah!
Courage the Cowardly Dog: This show rocks. It’s one of the creepiest kids shows I’ve seen and it has a style all its own. It can scare you and tug at your heart strings in the same episode, which is something I really like.
My friends: All of my friends are a never-ending source of inspiration to me. Here I used a picture of ~Shadow-Fairy and ~furubalunchbox because they were my very first drawing buddies. I love you guys and I probably wouldn’t be into art as much as I am if it weren’t for you two!
Fruits Basket (and Anime in general): Wooooah. Anime has absolutely affected the way I draw. I spent a good 5 years or so obsessed with it and it definitely shows. I’m trying to let it show through less and less but it’s a style that’s really hard to get rid of. Fruits Basket was one of the biggest anime influences of mine and I had an enormous crush on Kyo I:

SECOND ROW:
The Powerpuff Girls: I must have drawn these girls out over 5000 times at least. I spent a good portion of my childhood watching the show, drawing them, and pretending to be them. This probably has a lot to do with why I draw chibis like a madwoman.
World War II: I am extremely interested in learning about the history of World War II, and the history of wars and revolutions and such in general, really. I’m not sure what it is about it that interests me so much. Maybe it’s the fact that I can only imagine what everything was like, and it’s all so unreal that it’s incredible that this stuff really happened. Maybe it’s because learning about all the hardships people have gone through make me appreciate what I have more. I always disliked history until we got into wars when I was 15. It totally changed my opinion about learning history for the better.
Pokémon: OMG! Pokémon took hold of my childhood (and the childhoods of so many others) and threw my imagination into overdrive. It was amazing! I had never seen anything even remotely like it and so I spent a great deal of time learning everything I could about it and even created Pokémon and trainers of my own. I love that it can very easily interest people of all ages and help bring them together. I was Charmeleon for Halloween when I was 8.
Digimon: I got into Digimon a couple years after Pokémon, because it took me that long to bring myself to watch this horrible rip-off of a show. I was hooked after watching less than one episode. I loved both Pokémon and Digimon, and still do, and I love the differences in the two universes. I always especially loved Matt and T.K. and their Digimon so I looked really hard for a picture showing the four of them hahaha.. I was Gabumon for Halloween when I was 9. Yes, I am that nerdy.
Rats and Rodents: They are wonderful. They are so sweet and so cute. I especially love their little front legs with their tiny hands. Agh! Such wonderful creatures.
Pajama Sam: Pajama Sam and pretty much all other Humongous Entertainment Games were a big part of my childhood. Playing these games was so much fun and it was one of the few times my little brother and I got along. I wanted to BE Pajama Sam. These games inspired me to draw more and to try to make funny, clever stories.

THIRD ROW:
Quentin Tarantino: This man fascinates me. I want to get inside his head. I really enjoy his movies and I could literally sit and listen to him talk about his work for hours. He thoroughly enjoys what he does and it makes me so happy.
Zlevin: ~zlevin is… AH. I really, really love her work. I only hope that my pencil sketches will be as smooth and stylish and fluid as hers someday. I adore the way she draws people and faces, and those long, slender bodies. The picture I used is actually from her old account, ~nyyrikk.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck: Okay, I really can’t express just how much I love these guys. If I did, I’d probably be issued a restraining order. I just really love these guys, and I love that they worked hard to become what they wanted and I’m proud that they were able to realize their dream and it’s so great that they care about each other still after so much and so long and and and bdjhbsdhgjba. Whenever I find out nice things about these guys it just makes me all wiggly and happy inside and I am very creepy.
Stupid faces: If you know me, you know how much I love stupid faces. I love making stupid faces, I love watching other people make stupid faces, and I love drawing stupid faces. They are the cherry on top of the dessert of life. Accompanying sound effects are optional but very much appreciated as well.
Whose Line is it Anyway?: Speaking of stupid faces, I love Whose Line. I love it so, so much. I love both the US and the UK versions, and there isn’t another show that compares to either of them. They’re so silly and they show that it’s ok to be a kid forever. (hahaha Katie I found that old screenshot you sent me and had to use it.) Along with Whose Line, I really appreciate comedians in general. I was sad that I didn’t have room for people like Craig Ferguson or Eddie Izzard because they really have a positive influence on me.
Harry Potter: Harry Potter is up there with Pokémon as the biggest influence on me as a child. Harry Potter simply came after Pokémon, so Pokémon took up a longer portion of my childhood. When I was about 9 years old, I made fun of Harry Potter because from what I heard about it, I thought it was stupid. The next year, my teacher started reading The Sorcerer’s Stone to the class and I had to borrow my older brother’s copy of the book because one chapter a day wasn’t enough for me. I ended up reading all 4 books by the time I was 11 and I was completely obsessed. I eagerly awaited each next book’s release and saw every movie in theaters. My friends and I created Perry Hotter and friends and we played with Harry Potter Legos and read the books together and watched the movies together and I could go on and on. The books got me to read like no other book has. I was even voted “most likely to camp out for Harry Potter” in high school, I kid you not. I love all things Harry Potter (including A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel that I just recently watched oooooomg <3).

FOURTH ROW:
The Whoniverse: The entire Doctor Who universe is amazing. It’s so full of wonder and amazement, mystery and discovery, love and terror, life and death – it’s a wonderful place. It just may be my favorite scifi universe out there. I love the characters and I love the environments. It’s the kind of place you can get lost in and love every minute of it.
The Iron Giant: ;________; I adore this movie. I try not to watch it too often so I can be just as blown away every time. It’s an incredible movie with great visuals and characters. I love the 50’s feel, especially everyone’s clothes (and especially Hogarth’s clothes. I love that style!). It’s hard to dislike anything in that movie, even the antagonists.
Fight Club: When I first watched this movie, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It might be my very favorite movie. I don’t even know what to say about this movie. I rarely go a day without thinking about it. It’s just so grimy and dark and strange. Whenever I think about it I just think of dirty floors, a horrible smell, blood, pain, and insanity, and yet I can’t get enough. It’s a movie that makes me think. I would say there should be more movies like this one, but there really shouldn’t. If there were, it’d be harder to appreciate them, and I don’t want any of that.
The Buffyverse: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel are shows that I think will probably stick with me for the rest of my life. Any universe that I can sit and think about for very long periods of time without getting bored at all wins mega points from me. There are so many likeable characters that are dramatically different (this is very important to me!). Each character has their own strengths, weaknesses, and personalities and they work so well together. The entire universe really won me over. (By the way, since he’s in the picture and I didn’t have enough room for him separately on the grid, I have to talk about Seth Green. He is basically who I aspire to be. He’s funny and immature while at the same time smart and successful, with a large dose of nerd on the side. I’ve never met him, so obviously this is all my own assumption, but he seems like a really happy and friendly guy. I applaud you, Mr. Green, for being the kind of person I would like to see more of in the world.)
The Rain: I always feel like drawing when it rains. Living in California, we get very little rain so I always appreciate it when it actually does rain. There’s something about that weather that is so relaxing and calming.
Hedgehogbeeblebrox: I am always very inspired whenever I look at any of ~HedgehogBeeblebrox’s work. I love her unique style and how silly she is. It always seems like she can draw anything and it really makes me want to practice my own skills. It doesn’t matter if it’s a finished project or a quick sketch, I love all her work.

FIFTH ROW:
The Legend of Zelda: I love these games. They’re full of adventure, puzzles, interesting characters, and fun tasks. These are the games that can take hold of my life for days or weeks at a time. I can’t get enough of being Link and swinging my sword around. I’ve drawn Link so many times I can’t count it and I can only imagine this franchise will be around for a long time since it’s captivated so many people.
Suits: Oh my gosh, suits. I love suits, I really do. They’re gorgeous. I like to draw suits, I like to look at people wearing suits, and I want to wear a suit. They demand respect, while at the same time being pretty and sometimes even silly. Suits are stupendous.
Dexter: Every time I watch this show I find myself thinking, “Hmm, being a blood-spatter analyst seems kinda fun…” This show is so gruesome, suspenseful, and delicious. I have a particular fondness for season 1. I love that it’s told from the serial killer’s point of view because I love getting to see the mind of a psychopath. Dexter is a likeable and relatable character and the way he kills his victims is dark enough to be scary and meticulous enough to seem real. I really enjoy learning about serial killers and so when I finally got around to watching this series I was really impressed!
Ren & Stimpy(and most other Nickelodeon cartoons from this generation): The movements and facial expression in this show. My goodness. I know I already talked about stupid faces, but I just have to talk about them again. Ren & Stimpy has some of the most ridiculous faces I’ve ever seen while not necessarily relying on them (which I loooove). The show is still pretty hilarious when I look back on it, not to mention that I adore Billy West’s voice.
Congo’s Caper: The SNES is probably my favorite gaming system. It’s what I grew up on and I have so many games for it. Congo’s Caper is one of my favorites because it’s fun and challenging, and because the character design is so cute. I went through a phase of about a year where I drew Congo all the time, and I even made some Congo OCs. I have still never beat the game I:<
13 Going on 30: ;u; This movie is so great. There are very few chick flicks that I truly enjoy. This is number one on that list. It reminds you how great it is to be a kid and that it’s ok to let your inner child out to play. It’s a very cute, funny movie that I have to watch at least twice a year or things are not ok.

SIXTH ROW:
Legos: Legos! Who didn’t play with Legos as a kid? Neglected kids, that’s who. Legos inspired me to create fantastic worlds all my own, where there are no rules and everything is multicolored, even high-tech space ships. Legos are always fun, and it’s great because it’s hard to build the same thing twice. Imagination!
Shallow Hal: The message in this movie is that beauty is in how you are, not how you look. This is something I firmly believe in. Shallow Hal does a really good job of telling the audience that they’re gorgeous no matter what they look like, while at the same time being a very fun and silly movie.
Pushing Daisies: This is quite honestly the cutest show I have ever seen. It’s so colorful and cheery and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Everything in the show is adorable! The characters, the clothes, the stories – everything. It makes me want to eat sweets and hug everyone and take really long walks and be happyyyyyy.
Avatar: One of, if not, the ONLY American anime that I like. It’s so well done and they put so much effort into it. They actually did it right. It’s fun and entertaining for all ages. Avatar is another thing that made/makes me want to draw more. Fun fact: I was really angry when they added Toph to the gaang because I thought they were just going to keep adding characters until they were a huge group (which they didn’t, thankfully), but now she’s my favorite character in the whole show.
Bromance: I freaking love bromance. I think what I like about it is that it shows that men can have an affectionate relationship without needing sex. It shows that they can be compassionate. Plus, hilarious antics ensue. I tend to like bromances even more than actual romantic relationships, which is weird. I was tempted to put House and Wilson in this square, but Turk and J.D. share the biggest bromance I have ever seen.
Musicals: I’m realizing that I really like musicals. Recently I've noticed that I get very, very excited when shows have musical episodes and I have a hard time not singing along when I watch musicals. They’re just so energetic and fun! I used Moulin Rouge because it just might be my favorite. It’s so full of love haha..
